Gridless Determination of Aerodynamic Loads Using Lagrangian Particle Tracks

The aerodynamic loads on a flexible wing in terms of the surface pressure distribution and lift force along span are determined experimentally based non-intrusive Lagrangian particle tracking (LPT) measurements. As deforms under loads, its deformed shape is first reconstructed structural LPT measurements conducted together with flow an integrated approach. Based shape, tracers data collected normals to evaluate pressure, as well elliptic paths around determine circulation. calculated from by integrating difference chord, circulation using Kutta-Joukowski theorem. circulation-based results very good agreement reference balance, differences total less than 5%. estimation extrapolated consistently lower lift, about 10%, due limited accuracy extrapolation near leading edge region, where considerable fraction generated.
